I opened the cabin a month late this year and yet there was still some snow on the ground and flurries in the air. Normally, their would be a crispness to it but the danger of frosts, let alone flurries, would have passed by now. Nevertheless, I opened the cabin, restored the water connections and proceeded to clean up the place after a long, if strange, winter. It seemed like everything was going along just fine.
With the proliferation of mini recorders like the Flip, it seems that everyone and their mother is video blogging. This has resulted in many videos that can best be described as a waste of bandwidth, but it has also turned out some real stars. Look at Dave Canterbury of Wilderness Outfitters Archery. He's been posting survival videos on youtube for a few years now and has been picked up by the Discovery Channel. Kudos Dave! This isn't an article on internet celebrities, though. It's an article on one particular tool in their arsenals: The inexpensive video camcorder.
As I was perusing the net one day, an article by Michael Ruhlman caught my attention. Titled "My Essential Kitchen Tools", it read like a who's who list of the best kitchen equipment for an amateur chef. Unfortunately, that equipment came with a hefty price tag. I thought, "Heck, I've found plenty of quality kitchen multitaskers over the years. I'm sure I can do up a list like that". So here I am, attempting to do so.
