About This Site

Welcome to The End Of The Tunnel! This site was created for several reasons. First and foremost, I wanted a place to share my thoughts and persona on the web. A place for me to hand out a link to and say, "This is a rough approximation of who I am."

Secondly, I wanted to create a site that would showcase my projects and ideas. I'm always coming up with something or other and wanted a place to set it down where others might find it and be able to use it.

Finally, I wanted to create a place to foster community awareness and preparedness in both in New York City and State. I'm a founder of the New York State Chapter of Zombie Squad, ZSC-007, and an active member of the American and New York Preppers Networks

About Me

My Resume

I am an Information Technology Generalist who's been in the industry around 13 years. I have a passion for computers and technology that started at an early age and also enjoy exploring new ideas, building things, and the outdoors.

Though I took apart and fixed my first computer at the age of 7, I didn't start doing anything in the industry or school until I was in my last years of High School. Until then, my life primarily revolved around the Buckley School and the oldest choir of men and boys in New York City. I started fixing computers at a local computer shop after school when I was 16 and became the head onsite technician. After a semester at City College, where I studdied Computer Science and was a network administrator in the library, I started a company with a few friends call the Knowledge Propulsion Laboratory. My time at KPL was a great learning experience and showed me that straight Computer Science or computer repair & maintenance wasn't what I wanted from my life, but that the business side of IT was.

When the dot com bomb hit, KPL was one of the casualties. I went back to school with renewed purpose and strove to get into Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, which has one of the best Technological Entrepreneurship programs in the country. After a year at Pace University, I made it in to RPI, my dream school.

At RPI, I excelled at my Management and IT courses, joined the student government, obtained my CCNA, worked at the school's help desk, and did a significant amount of theater with the RPI Players. During my last year at RPI I became the Technical Director for the Players and was inducted into the Delta Xi cast of Alpha Psi Omega, the National Theater Honors Society.

Upon graduating RPI, I went to work for European Investors, Inc. as their IT Operations Manager. During my time there, I rebuilt an aging network with new Cisco hardware, extended the network globally, assisted with the migration from Netware to Active Directory/Exchange, replaced all of their desktop and server systems, implemented a virtual server farm using VMWare, a phone system using Cisco Call Manager, created and chaired the IT Steering Committee, and wrote a significant portion of the company's disaster recovery plan. All of this was done in addition to the regular maintenance and troubleshooting tasks that come about in day to day operations at an asset management company with a small IT department. For EII, I was the person who understood all the new technology and how it could benefit the company.

Unfortunately, I lost my job with EII during the economic downturn and a corporate resizing. Since then I have been repairing and upgrading my home in Queens, and helping to establish the American Preppers Network chapter for New York City. I am also helping to grow the New York Enterprise Windows Users Group as a new member of their executive committee. I am currently looking for employment in the IT industry as a consultant, operations manager, or generalist.
